Homemade Soup and Bodypump

Yesterday's workout was light stretching and foam rolling plus grocery shopping!  The boy decided they wanted Mexican food for dinner so we went to one of their favorite places:

California Tortilla!  The boys love the drink machine and make your own chicken fajitas.  The food here is very fresh and I am addicted to their salsa!  I always get the same thing...Southwestern Grilled Chicken salad with Honey Lime dressing..
Love that guacamole!  The boys also like to go here because of all the pretty college girls that oooh and ahhh over them!
How you doin'
After dinner I stocked up on some fresh produce and other essentials that we were in need of..

Today's workout was a nice tempo run that looked like this...2 mile warm up in 15 minutes then 3 miles in 21:12 then 1.7 mile cooldown...Note to self DO NOT drink apple cider vinegar BEFORE running!

I made a deal with myself to weight lift/train more to help prevent injuries and imbalances.  So today I took BodyPump at the Y. .

"BODYPUMP™, the original LES MILLS™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast!

Great bodies aren't born, they are transformed, using the proven BODYPUMP™ formula: THE REP EFFECT™ a breakthrough in resistance workout training. Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.

BODYPUMP™ is one of the world's fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl.

The cutting-edge BODYPUMP™ choreography, and chart-topping music is refreshed every three months, so with your choice of weight and highly-trained instructors you can get the group effect and the results you've been looking for!"

It has been close to 2 years since I last took this class and I think it is safe to say I will be nice and sore tomorrow...A Compex Muscle Stimulator would be great for recovery post-bodypump class!

This was my gear for pump:
BODYPUMP
I love that it is total body and the instructor really focuses on proper form and movement.  One thing that I tend to forget about during marathon training is how important it is to lift and strengthen those muscles that well help me stay strong and prevent injuries.  I am really excited to see how I do and how much stronger I feel after doing this for a few weeks/months!

Since today was rainy and my belly needed some comfort food I made HOMEMADE soup and it was amazing:
Chopping all the goods
All finished!
How do you strength train?  BodyPump, TRX, Personal Trainer, Crossfit?

Happy Running!
